ReplyDeleteNo prank, the cave remained unexplored until recently because it was too damned hot. The temp inside is around 120 degrees F with a humidity of 90%. That makes a heat index of around 220. The cavers wear special cooling suits that keep their core temp in check and keep the air they breath chilled. Even with the suits they can't stay down for more than 30 minutes at a pop or overheating and death result.
