The GOP's Agenda

How bout this one? In my fair state of California this showed up. Was it some lunatic? Was it some lone goofball? Was it some crazy racist with way too much time on his hands? Well, not exactly. This image and others like it were until yesterday up on the official Republican website for Sacramento County. Yeah, the GOP is responsible for this.

Sacramento County Republican leaders Tuesday took down offensive material on their official party Web site that sought to link Sen. Barack Obama to Osama bin Laden and encouraged people to "Waterboard Barack Obama" – material that offended even state GOP leaders.

But [county party chairman Craig MacGlashan] defended his Web site. "I'm aware of the content," he said. "Some people find it offensive, others do not. I cannot comment on how people interpret things."

By Tuesday night, much of the questionable material – which ranged from depicting Obama in a turban to attacking Michelle Obama – had been removed, replaced with political cartoons attacking Obama.

So much for that "Obama's a decent family man" stuff, eh, Senator McCain?
