Sorry

The Boy, due to an abundance of excess energy, was chasing his sister. She, of the Frankenstein walk, was not cooperating. The Boy essentially mowed her down. Tears ensued. His mother in an act of creative correction told the Boy he would have to stand in one place for the rest of the day to be certain it did not occur again. I was amused; he was not: "No, no, no. I don't want to stand in place."

An alternative was offered: "If you would like to tell your sister you're sorry," I told him, "You would be welcome to move from that place." He went for it. To the family room he raced, an apology forming on his lips. His sister by this time had all but forgotten the slight and was much more interested in the unnatural floating qualities of carpet lint. "Sorry," he yelled to her. She ignored him. Desperately he moved in closer, "SORRY," he offered again. She remained disinterested. His cry was overwhelming, "She doesn't want to be sorried."

What do you do when your victim won't be sorried?
