Obama and his grandfatherAs Obama travels to Hawaii to visit his ailing grandmother and celebrate her 86th birthday on Sunday it behooves us to remember from whence he came.
As Andrew Sullivan pointed out, his grandmother is his last living "parent". He was raised in part by his grandparents. To imagine that she might not see this through is immeasurably tragic.
