My wife took the offspring out to lunch on Saturday. She does this almost every weekend, an opportunity to spend time with the kids alone, and to visit a chain resturant that I refuse to frequent. The boy, as is his custom, took along a toy, a stuffed monkey that I had given his mother while she was in labor with the girl. After finishing their meal they packed up and prepared to leave. Making certain our son was not leaving his toy behind in the booth, as he tends to do, she asked, "Boy, are you grabbing your monkey?" In response, the woman in the next booth promptly passed soda through her nose.
Dining out with kids is the best.
